CDC Approves More Japanese Investment Projects Worth $2.8 Billion

Phnom Penh: The Council of the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has approved 146 Japanese qualified investment projects (QIP) as of October with a total investment capital of US$2.85 Billion.

The data was shared in a workshop on dissemination of the newly-endorsed investment law organised by the CDC. Chaired by H.E. The said workshop was chaired by the CDC Secretary General Sok Chenda Sophea. The aim of the workshop is to attract more investment and businesses from Japan.

Sixty six of the approved investment projects has a cumulative investment of US$340 million, which are located inside special economic zones. In the first semester this year, CDC has approved new 87 QIP projects worth US$3 billion, a 10 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Only QIPs are entitled to the benefits under the scope of Cambodia’s Law on Investment .Qualified Investment Project is the project which receives a Final Registration Certificate.
